Celebrating our Veterans: Brian Carr
“When you’re in the military, you form a family with everyone that you’re deployed with and in your unit. I feel that same thing here at Corbins.”
Brian Carr, a member of our Virtual Construction Field Support Team, served in the U.S. Army for 14 years. During that time, he was deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina (1996-1997) and Iraq (2009-2011).
A Motor Vehicle Instructor/Transportation Operator, Brian trained new drivers using hands-on procedures and instructed drivers while on convoy operations. He credits the Army for instilling him with strong coordination and leadership skills, which have proven useful in his current role. “Being in the military has given me a stronger ability to successfully coordinate. As a Field Support Technician, I am there helping to coordinate any mistakes with the BIM or clashes that might happen with other trades”.
His advice to Veterans who are interested in pursuing the trades, “It’s a good career choice. If you’re used to being out in the field and working, this is a great place to be. I feel a sense of job security working in the trades. My services will always be needed, especially as technology advances”.
Thank you for your service Brian, we salute you!
